Jed Rowe has hit a fine vein of songwriting on his third album, drawing on the production skills of Jeff Lang and players that include members of Melbourne’s The Stillsons. Rowe’s songs fall easily on the ears, drifting by with a US West Coast feel, rich in vocal harmonies and slide guitar. Folk, country and songwriter pop akin to Ron Sexsmith and Neil Finn run deep in his music with ‘Keep Talking Baby’ and ‘What You Gonna Do About It’ particular highlights. There are no risks here but Rowe has honoured his muse with a mature and accomplished album.
