Neil Young recorded a new album with Daniel Lanois, tentatively titled Twisted Road, earlier this year and Rolling Stone are reporting that they are in the final stages of mixing.
It is being touted as a solo record without a band but Lanois has said that only a handful of the songs are acoustic with the rest including his sonic touches to flesh things out. Lanois was also in control of the filming of the recording process so a film should appear at some point.
Young has also been making progress on Archives Volume II which will include three unreleased albums (1975’s Homegrown, 1977’s Chrome Dreams and 1978’s Oceanside-Countryside) as well as live recordings from Young’s 1976 tour with Crazy Horse. These albums will originally be released in vinyl before they appear on the box set.
