Singer/songwriter Leroy Lee has put together a new regular Americana night at the Petersham Bowling Club on the second Thursday of every month. The first Porch Light Sessions kicks off tomorrow night featuring Leroy Lee, The Morrisons and Lacey Cole and the Lazy Colts. We caught up with Lee Briefly to find out what the ethos behind the shows:
Last year I was traveling around the US on the Willie Nelson and Family Tour. On the bus somewhere between San Diego and Los Angeles, the guys were discussing the difference between Country music and Bluegrass, Willie put it simply “Bluegrass is Country without a drummer”.
Porch Light Sessions is a Folk and Country night without a drummer. It’s a night where you can come and listen to your favourite local and touring artists in an intimate, unplugged setting, with the help of some big old Condenser Microphones and a wide selection of craft beer.
