Eaten By Dogs’ self-titled album has been soon repeat around here for the last week. From a band name like that you’d expect raw, dirty country rock but these guys out of Melbourne excel and creating a great warm mood that is as reliant on immensely hummable and downright heart-aching melodies. They’ve released a couple of clips from the album already. This is the latest for the song ‘Holding On To Nothing’ with its desert twang and western noir shuffle and shimmer. There is darkness in the song yet it swells with the chorus of “ohs” giving it an air of optimism. Grab a copy of the album and have a listen if you can.
