PRESENTED BY DASHVILLE, 2SER AND POST TO WIRE
One of the alt-country, Americana, folk, blues and rock ‘n’ roll highlights on the calendar each year is Dashville Skyline. The festival is held yearly in the Hunter Valley/Wonnarua Country region of NSW over the October long weekend.
Dashville Skyline – Cosmic Country Weekender is a throwback feast. A super laid back long weekend camping festival located in pristine Hunter Valley bushland, celebrating the golden era of ‘Americana’ music from the mid ’60s and ’70s and today’s nostalgic culture that surrounds it.
Great artists from all around the world, come together in a celebration of the music and great songs that spawned from this influential period and the culture surrounding it, that has evolved and inspired so many. This year the impressive line-up includes US artists Hiss Golden Messenger, Ondara and Jenny Don’t & The Spurs alongside a wide ranging array of local Australian talent, topped off by Tim Rogers & The Twin Set and Vika & Linda with the Bullettes.
In terms of the music, we like to mix it up, so expect a myriad of musical styles throughout the weekend, from alternative country, Americana, folk, bluegrass to psychedelia and blues music. Over two stages, one artist at a time, no clashes, no running around, catch it all, one by one.
Along with all the musical escapades, expect a myriad of fun and games for the whole family. Great Americana inspired cuisine, cars and culture. There’s a farmyard, lawn games, hand picked markets and more all wrapped up in a relaxed family atmosphere and onsite bush camping that Dashville has become popular for.
It all kicks off on Thursday evening 28th September, with an incredible-not-to-be-missed 30th anniversary performance by Dave Graney & The Coral Snakes, with their huge record Night of The Wolverines. Campground opens from 2pm, to grab the best camp spots. This concert kicks off at 7pm, with two huge sets plus a special guest support. Ruby’s will be open for food and drinks and all festival ticket holders are encouraged to take up the early entry ticket + camping option which includes this show.
Friday 29th after a glorious Ruby’s breakfast, around midday The Grateful Shed will open for the very first time, hosting Powertool Pacesetters, tweaking and testing the track for a few hours, before the official Welcome To Country ceremony commences at 3pm and from there the music and activity will roll out.
Each night Friday, Saturday and Sunday, music runs up until close to midnight, with generally only ever one act playing at a time, with the exception of a couple sneaky musical sets inside the Grateful Shed.
There is a whole bunch of activity in and around the grounds for people of all ages.
This festival provides the option to purchase 1,2,3 or 4 days of entertainment and camping. visit the ticketing page for more info on all of that side of things.
All in all this is going to be an incredible chapter for the festival and we hope you can join us to make some memorable musical moments in paradise. If you’ve never been before, trust your instincts, you’re in safe hands.
Along with the music will come the culture surrounding it: the food, the beer, the cow-lickin’, the markets, the cars/bikes, the workshops, the Sunday Morning Constitutional and more. This year, we’re joining forces with S.H.A.R.T.A and presenting POWERTOOL DRAGRACING in our newly appointed venue – The Grateful Shed, which will also host some live musical performances from a select few artists on the bill. All pieces combined, this festival is super chilled and something incredibly special for the whole family to enjoy.
The Dashville team are on to it, so please head over to our ticketing page and secure your tickets!
Always such a spectacle, we can’t wait to see the community magic unfold in 2023.
