Last month I wrote about Rufous Whistler‘s single ‘Honey’ and now I’m very pleased to premiere the video clip for the new single ‘I Mean It‘, released this week.
The song, detailing the complex journey of self-conviction, comes complete with a loping rhythm section and a really nice blend of mandolin, fiddle and bouzouki that perfectly complements Vinny Russell’s melodic turns of phrase. Definitely one for fans of Iron & Wine, Calexico and Jake Xerxes Fussell.
“Filming at the Brunswick Ballroom felt like stepping into another world, full of character and charm. It was fitting to capture the video in a place where I have seen so many of my favourite songwriters and musicians do their thing on that stage. Plus, with WILK’s genius behind the camera, it all came together better than I could have hoped,” says Russell aka Rufous Whistler.
