Pauline Andrès is set to release her debut LP All Them Ghosts on October 14th and we’ve been lucky enough to have a sneak preview of the album that takes in influences such as PJ Harvey, Mazzy Star, Lucinda Williams and mixes them up in a shimmering, haunted gothic Americana sound. These are songs about darkness, broken heart, childhood memories and fairy tales framed in soulful alt-country and dark folk where allusions to violence and alcohol are only a chorus away.
Andrès has an interesting back story as a French citizen of Hungarian heritage who has traveled extensively and based herself between Berlin and other places. Her international experiences and cultural diversity gives the album a sound that is much more than the standard Nashville Americana shuffle and twang.
