I saw Kris Morris live for the first time last week at Songwriters in the Round at the Petersham Bowling Club and he blew me away with his raw blues and alt-country that kicked up metaphorical dust while at the same time cutting an emotional line straight to the heart. Morris has a new LP out on November 11th called RUINS which was produced by Kasey Chambers (she also added some vocals) and features Bill Chambers on guitar and lap steel, Jeff McCormack on bass, Steve Fearnley on drums and Harry Hookey on harp.
