ALBUM REVIEW: Shane Nicholson ~ Pitch, Roll & Yaw: Live & Solo

ptw scorebw7.5shane_nicholson_pitch_roll_and_yaw_live_and_solo_1114Nicholson has become something of a lighthouse on the Australian country music scene, bridging both the mainstream and alt-country scenes with his solo releases, albums with Kasey Chambers and production work. Now signed with Lost Highway as an artist and Staff Producer (incl. A&R), this solo acoustic live set is the precursor to a new studio album due early next year. It comprises tracks from across his career, all delivered consummately, spotlighting his weary, heartbroken sounding voice and excellent guitar playing. The Broken Things is a highpoint of this strong live recording that highlights the emotive and compositional strength of Nicholson’s songwriting.
