In 2012 Melbourne duo The Weeping Willows (Laura Coates and Andrew Wrigglesworth) released a fine debut album Till The North Wind Blows. Now they are ready to record its followup and intend to do so in Los Angeles, California. To make it happen they’ve launched a Possible crowdfunding campaign to raise the necessary funds to complete the album. Head over to their campaign page to check out the array of rewards on offer in exchange for your financial support.
The Weeping Willows will be working with Ryan Freeland, a 4-time Grammy-winning recording engineer and producer whose credits include Hugh Laurie, Bonnie Raitt, Loudon Wainwright III, The Carolina Chocolate Drops, The Milk Carton Kids, Justin Townes Earle, Ray LaMontagne, Ramblin’ Jack Elliott and more. Coates and Wrigglesworth will travel to Los Angeles in September to record in Ryan’s home studio, Stampede Origin, with top session musicians who have played with the likes of Ray Price, Jim Lauderdale, Carrie Underwood, Maddie & Tae, The BoDeans, Lana Del Rey, Rick Price, Kacey Chambers and Shane Nicholson.
