Circumstances prevented us from getting a Weekly Round-Up together last week but we’re back this week. Last Friday we presented a show at the Petersham Bowling Club in Sydney and it was an attentive and appreciative audience that were treated to stellar sets from James Thomson (accompanied by bass and fiddle), Davey Craddock and Roland Kay-Smith in full band mode with the always excellent Jeff Pope on guitar. Thanks to the musicians and everyone who came along.

Craddock winds up his Sydney shows tonight at The Gasoline Pony in Marrickville in support of Mark Lucas’ Small Town Blues album launch. It’s our gig pick of the weekend and kicks off early with Craddock on at 7pm followed by Brielle Davis (with Daniel Babekuhl) and then Mark Lucas in trio mode.
This week also saw the first line-up announcement for the new Americana festival Dashville Skyline which will take place in the Hunter Valley on the October long weekend (3-4th) and features Melody Pool, Perry Keyes, All Our Exes Live in Texas, Bell St Delays, Wagons, Bahamas, Green Mohair Suits, Lachlan Bryan, The Lonesome Heroes, Papa Pilko And The Binrats, Olympia, Elwood Myre and Ben Wright Smith with more to be announced.
Head over to our Sydney Gig Guide to check out what else is happening in June and beyond and drop us a line if you have a gig coming up or are attending a gig that we need to know about.
A few news reviews have hit the internet this week. We’ve written about the new Alison Ferrier and Mark Lucas albums with reviews of other new releases from Jed Rowe, The Deslondes and Dawes coming shortly.
