Melbourne musician Ben Mastwyk is an integral part of that cities’ Americana music scene, playing with Jemma & The Clifton Hillbillies, Sweet By & By and The Shotgun Wedding. Now he’s in the process of releasing his debut solo LP, conceived both in Melbourne and while traveling through the American South. He’s pulled in a great cast of players on Mornin Evenin including Peter Luscombe on drums, Ben Franz (The Waifs) on bass and backing vocalists Ayleen O’Hanlon and Brooke Russell among others.
“If you like your whiskey neat and your country classic then Mornin Evenin is for you. The debut album from Ben Mastwyk conjures up the spirits of Conway Twitty and George Jones through a set of well told stories of the heart.” – Tracy McNeil
Mornin, Evenin will be launched at The Spotted Mallard in Melbourne on July 19th at 4pm and Post To Wire is pleased to bring you the premiere of the video clip for the single ‘Sing Her Back Home’.
Stay tuned for Ben’s answers to our PTW Six Strings Q&A which we’ll be posting on the site later this week.
