Here’s a lovely ambling slice of country-folk courtesy of Memphis songwriter Mark Edgar Stuart. ‘Mad At Love’ is the title track from his new album (released Oct 12th) and is written from the point of view of a widow who lost her husband to cancer. It rides on a brisk rhythm and breezy melody that belies the weight of the subject matter. Stuart gets comparisons to Todd Snider and Robbie Fulks and deservedly so.
