Hard grooves aplenty on this Americana soul track, the title cut from Toronto native Jeremie Albino‘s debut album Hard Time, out August 9th. It’s a more polished and more tightly produced sound than another of our current favourites, Charley Crockett. Albino has a folk voice but he’s doing some interesting things by placing it in this kind of soul territory. Also check out his other recent single ‘Shipwreck‘ to hear how he operates with just voice and acoustic guitar.
Recorded in Nashville and Toronto with producer Andrija Tokic (Alabama Shakes, Hurray For The Riff Raff, Langhorne Slim) the album will be one to dig into for sure when it comes out next month.
