Here’s a new track from NYC-based songwriter Don DiLego. He’s certainly got a classic sound that has the forlorn and melancholic aspects of Americana but also a discernible crafted pop/rock element to it. The chorus heads skyward like one of those golden Ryan Adams melodic swells as the rest of song dances around it with just the right blend of poetry and guitars.

DiLego envisions ‘Your Great Escape’ as the first in a trilogy of “self-inflicted heartbreak” singles, before starting working during the northern fall in The Joshua Tree on his next album, Important News About Horses and Bears.
