Norway and the other Scandinavian country constantly surprise with new, heartfelt and authentic folk and Americana music. They really seem to dial into the heart and soul of the music. The latest to reach our ears is Malin Pettersen, better known as the country voice for the band Lucky Lips and an artist who has shared stages internationally with Sam Outlaw, Whitney Rose and Joshua Hedley.
Now with a blossoming solo career, Pettersen has released this folk-centred and stripped back song ‘Amazone’. It has the requisite forlorn mood and atmosphere but it’s her voice that clinches the deal, blending strength and fragility into a captivating sound.
Pettersen’s latest EP Alonesome is out now.
