Gretta Ziller is back with another gem of a melodic contemporary song. She always treads the right side of the tracks when it comes to negotiating accessible and memorable pop-tinged country songs. At the heart of her music lie superbly crafted songs that sit at the stylistic nexus of a number of genres. With numerous other artists that results in a watering down of the music but in Gretta’s hands it opens up the possibilities and allows her songs to take flight… the perfect example being ‘Fan The Fire’.
On the track, Gretta says, “’Fan the Fire’ is all about not letting your inner fears, doubts, insecurities get the better of you. I wrote this song to remind myself to not let them push me around and keep me down. Arlo and I wanted to create a visual representation of that. The dancer (Alya) represents those inner demons that we all have, and the cloth those invisible ties we create to the negativities in our thoughts. Sometimes we let those things push and pull us around, the trick is to learn how to ‘turn the table’ on them and make them fuel to your flame!”
The single is the second track to be lifted from her forthcoming sophomore studio album due September 2021 (her first since signing to ABC Music).
