The Toowoomba QLD / Tokyo Japan band have today released the first taste of their forthcoming album Restorations, their first release since the band retired their previous incarnation (Suicide Swans) and a refreshed line-up reconvened as Mt. Morning.
With the ever prolific Kyle Jenkins at the helm it’s clear the band are steering into a darker, more ornate and evocative form of Australian alt-country.
There’s the sway of dark and turbulent times at play as Jenkins sings of the unfulfilled potential of a wayward character.
The band’s trademark psychedelic country and folk lurch and tumble is still in effect, with Jenkins still hellbent on inserting undeniable hooks and chorus melodies that never cease to elevate his songs to some kind of cathartic and poetic mountaintop.
