Lyttleton is fast becoming the ground zero for contemporary country and folk music in New Zealand. From Marlon Williams to Aldous Harding, Tami Neilson to Julia Jacklin, The Sitting Room has been perfectly capturing New Zealand music for over a decade now and the latest album to emerge from the studio is singer/songwriter Nadia Reid‘s. She has a folk style that balances poetically between soulful and melancholic earthiness with a nod to fellow NZ’er Tiny Ruins, Mazzy Star and someone like Beth Orton. Simply beautiful and mesmerising.
Reid’s album Listen to Formation, Look for the Signs is out via Spunk Records on November 27th. Vinyl pre-orders available HERE.
