Emma Swift has been based in Nashville in recent times but she still gets back to Australia and this time round she’ll be playing shows with partner Robyn Hitchcock. The shows will feature a solo set by Hitchcock with Swift joining him for a series of duets.

The other exciting news is that the pair are releasing their second 7″ collaboration. The vinyl single/digital download of ‘Life Is A Drag’ – backed by ‘Life Is Change’ – is available from Hitchcock and Swift’s own Tiny Ghost Records and via Bandcamp.

‘Life Is A Drag’ was recorded in Kitchener, Ontario by Norman Blake (Teenage Fanclub) and it finds the pair navigating slow and dreamy territory reminiscent of Mazzy Star and even the recent LP by Sylvie Simmons. It’s something of a bittersweet torch song, bathed in lush reverb, minimal strumming and poignant xylophone notes that ring out tentatively through the emotional mist. Lovely stuff.
