Riley Catherall hails from Canberra but is now a resident of Melbourne. He’s got an EP on the way, featuring Bill and Kasey Chambers and Kasey joins him on this beautiful track, ‘Robin’ – an ode to a red-breasted bird. He cites James Taylor, Neil Young and Jason Isbell as influences and you can certainly hear a combination of those songwriters on this track as it slowly weave its way along beneath that lonesome harmonica and the sweet and clean vocal tone that Riley possesses. It’s delicate, melancholic and quite lovely.
