Sean McMahon‘s new album You Will Know When You’re There is out now and it’s a superb record. We’ve had it on high rotation of late – soundtracking road trips, lazy Sunday mornings and dimly-lit late nights. One of the highlights is ‘Outsider Blues’, a track that is built on a beautiful blend of acoustic instruments that gently enter the melancholic fray as McMahon’s weary, resigned vocal drifts across the music. There’s a bit of Beck, Tweedy, Elliot Smith in the sound of the track, filtered through a warm 60s production vibe.
We’ll be posting a full review of the album soon.
If you’re in Sydney you can catch Sean McMahon and The Owls launch the new album at the Sly Fox in Enmore tonight (April 4th) for Ramblin’ Nights.
