On the back of a lonesome harmonica comes the voice of QLD artist Sue Ray. It’s a warm and rich voice she possesses too, melodically draped as it is across the minimal country sound – a great mix of noir and campfire in its atmosphere and intimacy. ‘All The Lonely Ones’ was co-written with Sean Sennett.
Sue Ray has amassed several awards and nominations, from “Most Promising New Talent” in the 2013 Deadly awards to “Female Artist Of The Year” in the QLD Music Awards. In 2012, Red Roses was nominated for “Country Album Of The Year” in the AIR Independent Music Awards.
As Ray explains, the song “explores the sentiment of living as a songwriter, the sacrifices, the joys, and the relentless uncontrollable drive to pursue a dream. Essentially songwriters writing for the songwriters, whilst also dedicating it to the audience with love and kindness.”
‘All The Lonely Ones’ comes from her next album, Demons Will Win, due out in November 2021.
