From my internet travels I haven’t been able to find out much about this New York duo but this track, ‘Merino Ghost‘, from Aaron Fisher and Rob Stephenson’s 2022 album Sightseeing, absolutely caught my ear and pulled me in deep with its dreamy, evocative soundscape.

They navigate a beautiful space between American Primitive guitar stylings influenced by Fahey, Rose etc and a baroque folk meets jazz/post-rock fusion. The other tracks on the album feature drums, pedal steel and electronic-sounding murmurings and it all gels together like a warm and gentle psychedelic mix of Talk Talk, Tortoise and ambient country exponents SUSS who we’ve featured here before.

Highly recommended!

FYI… Stephenson also looks to be an award winning photographer of note.
