If you’re a fan of classic melodic country/folk rock then this new single from Nashville group Teddy and the Rough Riders should hit the spot nicely. It comes from the band’s forthcoming self-titled, Margo Price-produced album, out July 1st via Appalachia Record Co.
Teddy and The Rough Riders’s loving ode to the man—and the stories that surrounded him—is the at-times tender and at-times piano rocking ‘Hey Richard,‘ which opens with the line: “There’s a ghost up on the eighteenth floor / Part angel, part rock and roll.”
With Price producing and a tour support slot with Orville Peck, the band have some solid support behind them. The perfect springboard to gain wider attention for their Neil Young, The Band, The Flying Burrito Brothers sound.
